Painting of CHAKANA MANDALA  was inspired by a Toltec-Medicine Journey to Peru in 2006.

Notice the two circles of life in the Center. One has red steppingstones representing the Red Road through the physical life, the experience of being fully human. The blue stepping stones in the outer circle represent the Blue Road, the spiritual path through life, and defeating obstacles. Walking both Roads; Jaguar guides us across thresholds.

South is the Serpent Path, the symbol of uroboros reveals life eating life, feeding the feeding instinct, filling our plates with soul’s hunger for love and life. Snake is a symbol of shedding our personal past and coming to love the part of us that was outcast (by ourselves or others) from the Garden, the unloved part.

WEST, the direction where one steps beyond what one fears the most—the unknown—to meet death and know the transcendent immortal Self.

Jaguar: With huge paws and jaws, can kill with one bite; does not roar, growls snarls, grunts; represents the sensual, mystery, silence; hunts over hundreds of miles, moving fearlessly day or night. Jaguar is waiting for you to take your quest to know the Self within: when Jaguar leaps into your life, go within, cross the Threshold, follow him into underworld, see with your inner sight. Jaguar element is water.
